This is a copy of a thread I made in murga forum about Matrix Puppy/aka Cluster Puppy
Posted: Tue 14 Apr 2009, 18:29 Post subject: Where is matrix puppy development?
Subject description: evaporated clusterpup?
I found old threads by Everitt, & NickBiker, both toying with Cluster computing using Puppy
I know Lobster did a matrix pup graphic, and Everitt mis-spelled Matrix...but....
However both seem to have disappeared Sad
Anyone know what happened to them, or with any code/ISO's they may have done?
Anyone else interested, & know anything about clustering/xen paravirtualisation?
Reason for asking, now that I'm trying big_bass's Slaxer_pup with SMP enabled & Barry has suggested SCSI booting is still a future possible, it got me thinking about clustering again [old servers needing a purpose Wink ]
Anyone else interested?
Please, not Wolfpup's boinc pet, - interesting though it is - I'm not thinking of Ceti or bio-research - but maybe a paravirtual xen environment sitting on a cluster of older kit, maybe for fast compiling? rendering or multitrack audio/video editing/publishing etc
This is nice...
Good info here
& this is way ahead of its time....."Updated November 5, 2009" - oh really?
more modern hardware kit
Got a few bob? - Microwulf - shame about the final med spam.....
Don't know enough to know if it'd work, just thinking aloud
Hope I've wetted some appetites?
Did something go bump? or was I in a tree? Laughing
I've resurrected it to see if there's any interest in it now, as I'm interested in virtualising....now that I have the hardware...and my mind made the clustering connection....
Since that post Master_wrong made a full rework of puppy clustering
He made a manual, for anyone wanting to have a go
I think I'm going to do some reading...
Thanks to Joe for bb2bbpress and only the Princeton deadlink...cool
