Just keep in mind that the printer driver will send bytes to the port as fast as it
receives the acknowledge pulses.
If it's too fast, then rather make single character (text) files and "print" them
from a script that has a wait loop or extend the pulse width of the acknowledge pulses
as this will control the overall throughput.
I don't know if there is a time out built into the driver but it's worth experimenting
as it only involves changing one resistor and/or capacitor.
Don't be afraid to experiment.
