Hi all, I am new to the forum and have been using linux off and on for 7-8 years now. I am a teacher working on a project to revive some old laptops with my students. My plan is to build a nice picture frame, for the display, take the display off the hinges and reverse it so that it faces away from the back of the laptop, then mount it in the frame. This makes a nice digital photo frame.
What I need help with is this. I can't find a good program to display pictures AND videos. I want to be able to dump a pile of pictures and video clips, (think a families digital picture archive, there will be pictures and clips taken with the camera) and have them cycle through on the display. Videos will play when they come up.
I guess it would be easiest to install a program to do this, if somebody could point me to the proper program. I have not been able to find one. Slightly harder might be to have a puppy port that is specifically for this job. The last option might be great because it could be optimized to handle large pictures efficiently and play videos. It would not need capabilities to do much else.
Can anybody steer me in the right direction here?
