I have chmod'ed /etc/.XLOADED to "666" in /usr/bin/xwin, so that fido can delete it.
Error message is the same as before:
/usr/bin/xwin: line 511: /etc/.XLOADED: Permission denied
That is: fido cannot write in /etc
There is no file .XLOADED
I have tested unplug power cable:
Next boot was OK, automatic file system check successful.
Is .XLOADED needed for other PUPMODEs only ?
fido's passwords mystery solved:
Precise5.6 fails to boot as before. Wary/racy boot while precise wipes out on vastly more currently in use new equipment. By puppy chat feedback it is around at least 30% of users who cant boot precise because of new equipment. They are using upup raring instead. I dont see this as a kernel issue as ubuntu pangolin boots on my machine.
this is the boot fail image mentioned at http://bkhome.org/blog2/?viewDetailed=00236
same images just different hosts
